My magazine cover is very simplistic. Its conventions differ from many magazines as it only has a few coverlines, focusses mainly on the image, and follows a color scheme. Having it focused on the cover image, the magazine cover will catch the eye of its audience, whom will then consider the coverlines. Further, my magazine cover follows a specific color scheme, which makes it appear more organized. This is unusual, as many magazine covers use many different colors in order for the magazine to appeal to one’s senses. For example, People’s Magazine balances its focus between the cover lines and cover image. In order for this to happen, the coverlines are bolded with a color that shows no relevance to the color scheme of the image; therefor eliminating an organized color scheme.
My magazine pertains to people who enjoy travel and camping. The cover page focuses mainly on the cover image; so its audience can clearly see the type of magazine it is, without reading its title or coverlines. After reading the cover lines, readers can confirm its topic of camping and travel. It represents the growing amount of people who are taking interest on a life on the road and can also be used to intrigue more people to take apart in this lifestyle.
