Conglomerate companies in media are considered widely known through international audiences; they are a larger company that owns many independent media companies. For example, Disney owns independent media companies such as ABC and ESPN. As a result, conglomerate companies have few or no issues targeting national and local audience because of their use of advertising and social media. On the other hand, independent companies can be widely known but are almost always found within conglomerate media companies. Therefore, they may have issues promoting their media. One major issue is that their productions only target a small audience. For example, ESPN only attracts audiences that enjoy watching sports. Further, these independent media companies are less funded and therefore have a harder time advertising and promoting their media.
