Social media has had a huge affect on how film is consumed. Because social media has become so popular, many production companies have turned to social media to promote their films. When a social media user comes across a film advertisement, it’s production design may appeal to their senses. Moreover, certain things such as scenery, effects, specific actors, etc. may directly address a specific audience. For example, the Star Wars movies would immediately catch the eye of people interested in futuristic, fantasy movies, while also presenting its incredible production design. Films that people take interest in are likely to be spread throughout social media. This creates a wide range of advertising, attracting a vast audience. The consumption rate would drop significantly without the use of social media advertising, and films would not receive the large audience they receive today.
